It may not have been a blockbuster when it was released three years ago, but this FN handgun is worth a second look in 2025. I believe the FN 509 CC Edge is underappreciated because it was too forward-thinking for the 2022 market.
Today, compensated or ported carry guns are all the rage. The consumer market has finally realized that comps are not only for competition, and all styles of pistols can benefit from some form of this muzzle rise reduction system. |

Michigan and the U.S. saw fewer gun sales in 2024 than the previous year, a new report from SafeHome, a home security company, says.
The June 4 report shows declining gun sales nationwide over the past three years, following a peak during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The data focuses on 2023 to 2024, when gun sales dropped 3.4% nationwide.
While sales trended down nationwide, a few states saw increasing gun sale rates, according to the report, mainly in states with strong hunting culture and more relaxed gun laws.

The government can permanently disarm someone with prior convictions for financial felonies, a federal appeals court has ruled.
On Monday, a three-judge panel for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously rejected a New York mans as-applied challenge to restore his Second Amendment rights despite a pair of decade-old bank and tax fraud convictions. Though the plaintiff argued that the federal felon-in-possession ban should not apply to someone with only non-violent offenses, the panel ruled that the Second Amendment allows Congress to categorically ban all felons from having gunsrelying largely on discriminatory historical laws that barred blacks, Catholics, and native Americans from owning firearms. |

Plaintiffs challenging Illinois gun and magazine ban are telling the federal appeals court a district judge was correct to find the law violates Second Amendment rights.
The four plaintiffs groups from the Southern District of Illinois consolidated cases filed their lawsuits weeks after the state enacted the ban in January 2023. On initial proceedings, the case went up and down the judiciary. |
